Drawing on years of experience as both Planning Supervisors and Environmental Health Consultants, Perry Scott Nash Associates Ltd can offer a unique CDM Co-ordinator service which addresses environmental health issues e.g. food safety, design, health and safety, environmental protection (noise, waste management etc) at the same time as ensuring CDM responsibilities are met.Our CDM Co-ordinator function is genuinely a ‘one stop shop’ and is particularly targeted at the leisure, retail and commercial sectors.
- Preliminary work in respect of existing drawings, environment, structure, materials, ground conditions, access ways, transport systems, existing use of asbestos, hazardous substances etc.
- Review of design considerations already proposed i.e. detailed review of feasibility drawings, project drawings.
- Discussions with design team regarding proposed construction methods, access routes, design considerations etc.
- Review of construction materials to be used/specified.
- Collation of manufacturer’s information, safety data sheets etc.
- Review of construction site elements of the project, in particular proposals for refurbishment work where buildings will continue in occupation as these may pose the highest health and safety risks to persons not conversant with construction site safety.
- Production of site specific safety rules for construction purposes, training requirements and welfare facilities.
- Preparation of documentation for notification of project to the Health and Safety Executive.
- Preparation of questionnaires to the design team to ascertain competence in respect of health and safety.
- Preparation of the Pre Construction Information Pack.
- Assessment of the Principal Contractor’s safety procedures and competence.
- Assistance with Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans.
- Compilation of the Health and Safety File for onward transmission to Client.
- Continuity review of the project and liaison as necessary with the Principal Contractor and design team.
